Has anyone tried the newer design in bike racks? Does it work well?

Dunno about the bike attachment, but I have the rack and the nylon straps, and it's all first-rate stuff.

I wouldn't do it. Do a search here on bike racks, or check out the library. There are ways to carry bikes without touching the painted surface or stressing the trunk lid.
Bikes suck up moocho wind and could bend up the lid.
Webmasters' notes and comments:
We have included some of the images originally in this thread, but not all.
The layout also differs vastly.
The Peugeot 206CC pictured is not sold in the U.S.A.
See the construction page for details how our luggage carriers fit without metal-to-metal contact.
We've had no reports of bent lids --- bicyles let the air pass through their structure normally. Anyone?
